Virginia Opera's success is made possible through a balance of contributions and ticket sales. Opera is among the most expensive of the performing arts to produce, and even the revenue from every ticket sold during a season pays for just 38% of our production costs. Every donation to Virginia Opera's Annual Fund is vital to our organization.

The contributions we received from the community last season allowed us to maintain the level of excellence that has become the hallmark of Virginia Opera. In addition to what you see on stage, your gift helps fund our In-School Education Program. We traveled to more than 400 schools throughout the Commonwealth last year, reaching over 160,000 students who may not have had another opportunity to be exposed to opera.
