DIRECTIONS TO HARRISON OPERA HOUSE

From Virginia Beach:    

  1. Take I-264 West into Downtown Norfolk to Exit 9 (Waterside Dr.).
  2. Follow directions from Waterside Dr., below.

From Hampton/Peninsula:

  1. Take I-64 East through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and approximately 15 miles after you exit the tunnel.
  2. Take I-264 West into Downtown Norfolk to Exit 9 (Waterside Dr.).
  3. Follow directions from Waterside Dr., below.

From Chesapeake:

  1. Take I-64 West to I-264 West to Exit 9 (Waterside Drive), or take I-464 towards Norfolk to Exit 9 (Waterside Dr.).
  2. Follow directions from Waterside Dr., below.

From Exit 9 Waterside Drive:

  1. Continue straight on Waterside Dr. through 12 traffic lights (approximately 1.5 miles) to arrive at the Harrison Opera House.
  2. Please note that Waterside Dr. changes into Boush St. and later into Llewellyn Ave.
  3. You will cross over two major intersections: one at Brambleton Ave. and one at Virginia Beach Blvd.
  4. The Harrison Opera House is located on the corner of Virginia Beach Blvd. and Llewellyn Ave.
  5. Turn right into the Harrison Opera House parking lot.

PARKING
Parking is available at no cost at the Harrison Opera House parking lot (for main stage performances only). Free, on-street parking is also available, subject to Norfolk parking restrictions. Harrison Opera House parking is on a first come, first serve basis; while supplies last. Parking regulations and reserved parking must be observed at all times.

The City of Norfolk enforces "No Parking" regulations on Llewellyn Avenue and other streets surrounding the Harrison Opera House where "No Parking" signs are posted. Virginia Opera is not responsible for any parking tickets received by patrons and discourages using other privately and commercially owned lots in the vicinity of the Harrison Opera House for parking. When coming to the Opera, please allow ample time to park, and take care to obey all posted parking regulations and Harrison Opera House parking attendants.

Special Advisory: The City of Norfolk is conducting a water and sewer project beginning in 2011. This will impact the E. Virginia Beach Blvd/Llewellyn Ave entrance and the Llewellyn Ave exit and entrance of Norfolk's Harrison Opera House parking lot for several weeks. The actual dates are not confirmed. Travel and parking information will be provided to patrons, and details will be posted on Virginia Opera's website. Please plan extra time for parking and travel.
